For those who are seeking a deeper spiritual path to recovery, these options will take you on a spiritual journey like no other. Extensive prayer, thought and effort effort has gone into the curicuulam for these optional programs. What is a Christ Centered, Biblically Based
Detox and Group Therapy program?
New Beginnings Recovery Center offers an Out-Patient 36 hour Drug Detox with a Christian, biblically based therapy program. NBRC understands that Christians hold to a specific understanding of “A Power Greater than ourselves”. With this in mind NBRC offers a “Christian Track” to recovery. NBRC also cannot ignore the dramatically lower recidivism [repeated or habitual relapse] rate of Christ centered rehab programs. NBRC is a strong supporter of AA’s 12-Step Philosophy, but unlike the AA or NA program a Christian program distinguishes itself by stating that Jesus Christ is the HIGHER POWER and He is called God.
NBRC’s program is facilitated by Addiction Professionals that include pastors and Christian lay leaders who are in recovery, having a strong faith in Jesus Christ. During the course of treatment you will discover how the power of God can heal your addiction. Clients will have the opportunity to share their story as well as hear testimonies from others in recovery who have tapped into the power of God

How does the detox work?
Intake Interview & Psychosocial Assessment
A confidential interview is conducted to determine eligibility, the program requirements, various treatment options and the fee structure.
Pre-Procedure Medical Evaluation
Patients receive a complete medical history and physical examination by our Physician who specializes in addiction medicine. This exam includes a urine toxicology screen.
Induction Phase: Beginning the Detoxification
The Induction Phase is the medically monitored startup for the patient’s medications. The Physician will prescribe the specific medications and dosage for the patient depending on the patient’s addiction. Suboxone® or Subutex® is used for opiate addicted patients. A varity of other medications are prescribed for detoxification from alcohol, cocaine and benzodiazepines.
Stabilization Phase: Controlling the Cravings
The Stabilization Phase begins when the patient has discontinued the use of their drug of choice, no longer have cravings for that drug and they are experiencing few if any side effects.
Taper Phase: Getting Free
Medications are steadily decreased. Once the patient shows no sign of withdrawal, then over a period of time the medication is stepped down until the patient is DRUG-FREE.

What is Unconditional Love?
Most alcoholics and addicts come into treatment when they have “reached their bottom”. Being at the “bottom” often carries with it guilt and a great deal of shame along with self-hate. Through the NBD Christian recovery program you are reminded that GOD LOVES YOU EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE AT THIS MOMENT. YOU NEED NOT “CLEAN-UP” TO APPROACH GOD. HE ACCEPTS YOU AS YOU ARE.

Eight Principles of the New Beginnings Detox Christian Recovery Program
I Understanding Powerlessness
We grow to understand that we are powerless over addiction and sin. When our lives are run by sin and addictive behavior our lives are unmanageable. “I do not understand what I do, for what I want to do I hate to do and the things I hate to do I keep on doing”. Romans 7:14
II. God is the Power that drives our Recovery
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength”. 2 Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Philippians 4:13
III. We make a thorough inventory of our shortcomings or sins
“Let us examine our was and let us take it to the Lord.” Lamentations 3:40
IV. We confess our shortcomings of sin
“Therefore confess your sins to each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteousness man is powerful and effective.” James 5:16
V. We ask God to remove the obstacles that keep us from Him
“If we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1John 1:9
VI. We make restitution wherever possible
“Humble yourselves before the Lord and He will lift you up.” James 4:10
VII. We seek to deepen our relationship to God
“Let the word of Christ dwell richly within you.” Colossians 3:16
VIII. We share the Good News with Others
“Now that I your Lord and Teacher have washed your feet so also you should wash one another’s feet.” John 13:14
CRISTIAN SUBSTANCE ABUSE GROUP THERAPY PROGRAM
This program includes a 36 Hour Biblically Based Group Therapy program with no detox. New Beginnings Recovery Center offers an Out-Patient 36 hour program with Christian, biblically based therapy. What is Addiction?
There are many definitions for Addiction; a medical definition; a physical definition and a psychological or psychiatric definition for addiction. While we believe all these areas carry meaning and contribute to a fuller understanding, it is our belief that the condition of Addiction has at it’s root a broken spiritual nature.
How does Addiction effect a Christian Family?
“When one part of the body suffers the entire body suffers” 1Corinthians 12. The disease of addiction does not take place in a vacuum. It effects the entire family system. The symptom bearer or addict carries the disease which in turn influences everyone in relation to him/her. Christian families are often devastated by the disease of addiction because it is easily dismissed, denied or blamed on the addict.
When the disease of addiction is brought into the Light, the entire family must be treated and ministered too with the love of God in Christ. Among the responses of this disease in the family are the following: Hurts, Lack of Trust, Betrayal, Control Issues, Anger, Dishonesty, Denial, Victimization, Self-righteousness, Grief, Unresolved Family Issues, Guilt and Shame and others. The love of God in Christ needs to be applied to these deep wounds.
Detoxing is just the first step in the recovery process. It’s not unusual that during the detox process, loved ones sometimes have mixed emotions of anger, relief, worry and fear that if this doesn’t work, nothing will. You may feel as if you’re walking on eggshells and if you do something wrong, you may cause a loved one to relapse.
It is important to realize that you cannot cause a relapse—only the person who takes a drug or picks up a drink is responsible for that. No one can predict whether a loved one will relapse, but most people who receive Detox treatment along with Counseling stand the best chance of a long term relapse-free recovery and those who receive Christian counseling as part of their therapy stand an even better chance.
The Serenity Prayer
Alcoholics Anonymous had it’s roots in Christianity beginning as a Bible Study [“The Oxford Group”] before becoming secularized in in 1935 by Bill Wilson, one of the co-founders of AA. The Serenity Prayer, recited at most 12 Step Meetings has its roots in Christianity as well. It was shortened to make it less “offensive” and more “inclusive” to those outside the Christian faith.
Here is the Serenity Prayer in its entirety. It was written by Rheinhold Niebuhr a German theologian, but the concepts of the prayer can be traced back to 480-524 AD
God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right
If I surrender to Your will;
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
